Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. Pro 31:10 KJV
In the 10th verse of 31st chapter of the book of Proverb the Holy Spirit was speaking through the concern of King Lemuel’s mother. She asked a striking question, “Who can find a virtuous Woman?” And He continues in the subsequent verses to give detailed descriptions of this invaluable.
The Virtuous Woman is an embodiment of moral goodness, physical wellness and mental soundness. She is complete, without any flaw and her price is far above rubies. Her speech is gracious, her appearance endearing and her spirit noble. The Virtuous Woman is trustworthy, industrious, prudent and good-natured. She is energetic, yet thoughtfully charitable – not a hard, cold, selfish woman. She is endued with the fullness of the grace of God, resulting in a restful, comforting, sweet and generous soul.
The Virtuous Woman is everything to her husband and his heart safely trusts her. She is a crown to her husband and a pride to her children. As a wife, she is completely devoted, chaste upright, prudent, efficient and a worthy helpmeet of her husband. The Virtuous Woman is faithful and transparent and only does what he approves of, and which is line with godliness. When she speaks, they are not gossipy, slanderous, idle words but words that pulsate with wisdom and discretion – such that ministers grace to her hearers.
The Virtuous Woman as a mother, she teaches and direct s her children and other dependants with gracious kindness. She is not idle; rather she is a manufacturer, a designer, a resourceful inventor. The Virtuous Woman is a manager who handles domestics concerns so well that her husband finds ample time to engage in other profitable ventures outside, confident that the home front is being well taken care of.
But who is sufficient for these things in our age and time? How can anyone attain such heights of virtuousness and excellence? Yes, it is still possible to attain such heights of virtuousness and excellence. The secret of the virtuous woman’s remarkable selflessness, exceptional thoughtfulness, incredible energy, can be found in verse 30 of the same Proverbs, “Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised”. Her untiring motivation to give herself to such noble efforts of a lifetime lies in her relationship with God. Her life is regulated by her fear of God and submission to His will.
The power to wisely manage your life, your time, your money, your mouth, your home, and your relationship lies in the power you wield with God. Don’t scorn His expectations for your life for your life or write off the virtuous woman’s description as imaginary, old-fashioned or impossible. God can help you; He wants to do it for anyone who approaches Him for grace and might. You cannot be what God wants you to be by your own power. It is possible, if you are willing to let the Lord have His way in your heart, life and home. Christ has already paid for it on your behalf! Go to Him in prayer, sincerely asking Him to accomplish this great work in your life.
