The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. Psalm 51:17
Sacrifice is a very powerful key, irrespective of whether the sacrifice is for God or for the Devil; there is a release of power when offering sacrifice to God or Devil. There is good and bad sacrifice, the greater the sacrifice the power release.
Araunah said, “Why has my lord the king come to his servant?” “To buy your threshing floor,” David answered, “so I can build an altar to the LORD, that the plague on the people may be stopped.” Araunah said to David, “Let my lord the king take whatever he wishes and offer it up. Here are oxen for the burnt offering, and here are threshing sledges and ox yokes for the wood. Your Majesty, Araunah gives all this to the king.” Araunah also said to him, “May the LORD your God accept you.”But the king replied to Araunah, “No, I insist on paying you for it. I will not sacrifice to the LORD my God burnt offerings that cost me nothing.” So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen and paid fifty shekels of silver for them. (2 Samuel 24:21-24). David would have gotten the threshing floor and the oxen for free, but he knew that a sacrifice, which costed him nothing, will not work.
Every sacrifice must cost you something; your children going school will cost you money and your time that is the sacrifices you will make if really want them in school. To make your relationship work you have to sacrifice something.
Paul was a Pharisee, he gave it up for Jesus, and he was persecuting the church he also gave up for Jesus. Everything he had, he gave up for Christ, what a great sacrifice. “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship”( Romans 12:1). The concept of sacrificing is strange to modern Christian, but rather it’s the size of their pocket that matters the most to them. Pastors these days measure their success not by the level of anointing that flows in them but rather by how big their pocket is, the number of private jet and their fleet of luxurious cars. All we want is to receive from God without giving back, but it is what you give that makes you rich,
What kind of sacrifice do you offer? Is the sacrifice for things that will pass away or sacrifice for thing that will last forever? Power will break forth in your life the moment you start to make sacrifice for the thing of God.
“His armed forces will rise up to desecrate the temple fortress and will abolish the daily sacrifice. Then they will set up the abomination that causes desolation. 32 With flattery he will corrupt those who have violated the covenant, but the people who know their God will firmly resist him (Daniel 11:31).
The spirit working against sacrifice in the lives of Christian is the spirit of Anti-Christ.
